BOOKS
We have several thousand books ranging from preschool picture books to literary classics for high schoolers. Many of the titles are books you’d find on recommended reading lists such as the Sonlight homeschooling curriculum. Our collection tends to be long on science, history and historical fiction. (We don’t have Harry Potter or other fad titles– you can borrow those from the public library.)
CLASSROOM SETS: We have multiple copies of many classic books, enough to use with a small class (10-20 students).
CURRICULA
We’ve accumulated a number of textbooks and curriculum packets that can be borrowed for an entire year or semester. We also have dozens of Teaching Company courses on DVD or VHS. There’s also a small section of “how to” books for parents.
GAMES
Board games about astronomy, geography, math, science, and history. Card/dice games about math, science, and art appreciation.
ACTIVITY PACKETS
Miscellaneous activity packets that might include rubber stamps, rock collections, tangram shapes, calligraphy brushes, puzzles, puppets, quiz games, etc.
EQUIPMENT
We have test tubes, beakers and other lab glass ware, dissecting kits, microscopes and slides, thermometers, balances, molecule kits, and other such gear.
UNIT STUDY BOXES
We would like to develop unit study boxes for all the popular unit study themes such as colonial, 1812, Civil War, China, Rome, Greece, Japan, Vikings, Egypt, Native Americans, oceans, volcanoes, human body, etc. (We already have boxes for China and for Lewis & Clark.)
COSTUMES
We have miscellaneous historical props and costume pieces (especially hats) from Renaissance, Colonial, Civil War, etc.. Also some animal costumes. They can be borrowed for skits, plays, and costume parties.
